Ricky Gervais hosted the 2012 Golden Globe Awards tonight in spite of or beacuse of all the headlines he made last year with his jabs at all of Hollywood’s elite. I love Ricky and was disappointed at how infrequently throughout the show that he was actually allowed to speak. Is it really considered hosting if you only make an appearance on stage once every hour?

Tonight’s Golden Globe awards provided some AMAZING looks and some awkward moments. In fact one of the most awkward things to happen started during E! New’s red carpet coveage, where Fashion Police’s Kelly Osbourne kept insisting how much Sophia Vergara’s dress looked like hers…. I’ll let you decide, but I’m sure you’ll come to the same conclision as I did…. Yeah, poor Kelly.
Sophia looks amazing!!! and so does Betty White!

Zooey Deschanel - This was my absolute favorite look of the night! Plus, I am a huge fan of fun fingernails and Zooey's were painted like little tuxedos!
Evan Rachel Wood - I loved her feathery frock!

Ewan Gregor - that fine piece of scottish a.., Zachary Levi - the sweet piece I only recently noticed, now I'm in love. Johnny Depp - loved the emerald green vest and pocket watch with matching green face!, Elton John and David Furnish, Leonardo DiCaprio

1.) Jessica Beil - she must have been so excited about her recent engagement to Justin Timberlake (and who wouldnt be?) that she time traveled back to 1902 to pick out her wedding dress.I'm just not sure why she's wearing it to the Golden Globes. 2.) Kelly MacDonald - you are amazing on Boardwalk Empire. You just look awful though. 3.) Emily Gould - Homeland's housewife... why are you dressed like a call girl brought on a trip to Monte Carlo? 4.) Missi Pyle - ??? when did you start doing real movies?
1.) Busy Philips... I can't even begin right now. 2.) Sarah Michelle Gellar and Piper Perabo - what, the f*ck, whereyou guys thinking? 3.) Connie Britton - this is a dressy kind of occasion. you shoulve rsvp'ed no to the bbq you came from before you arrived if you weren't going to have time to change.
1.) Julie Bowen - not only do you look horrible, but you annoy me, a lot. 2.) Laura Linney - this is ugly. 3.) Natalie Portman - too plain. 4.) Tina Fey - I love you so much. Why the puffy hair and ugly gown?
Madonna didn't look as gross and dead as she usualy does, so that good I guess. But the one glove and cheap-looking chunky cross necklace just made the dress look worse.

On with the show……
One of the first shots which led to one of my first thoughts of the show was “Look how amazing Nicole Kidman and Harrison Ford look together. Must better than her shrimpy little husband and his girlfriend… whats her name?
Here come the awkward moments… Johnny Depp can make most moments awkward (and yet still so sexy) but this was uber weird.
Whats worse than Adam Levine behind a mic? Jimmy Fallon behind the same mic. I absolutely can not stand either of these guys and NBC thought it would be just fab to stick them on stage together. Jimmy was clearly auditioning for next year’s hosting job and doing what he does best: not be funny.

I must include this little gem from Morgan’s time spent on The Electric Company.
some not so surprising winners: Steven Speilberg and Meryl Street (who at least pretended to be shocked and then admitted she had a speech prepared when she realized she forgot her glasses.)
Lots of great fashion! Lots of semi-good talent! Some deserved awards. Lots of awkward moments and a crap-load of photo-bombing… did anyone else notice? Celebs were creeping into each others camera time all through the night… it was hilarious.
