2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards

18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

Tonight was the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony. The SAG awards are my absolute FAVORITE! I’ve always said that I would love winning a SAG award even more than winning an Academy Award. Mostly, because I know how much actors are pompous assh*les and if they can pause their own ego for a minute to pump up my ego and recognize me as being awesome, that’s an honor.

Most years, I spend the entire opening crying melodramatically, touched by actor’s story that always ends with “… and I’m an actor.”, dramatically saying through my sobs “I’m an actor!”. But this year… no tears. I was sadistically looking forward to it too! I don’t know if it was the actors who were chosen to speak or maybe their stories just sucked (none of them particularly stand out to me even now writing this) regardless, I wasn’t touched god damnit.

But my favorite part of every award show is, of course, as you know, the red carpet fashions. So let’s get to it.

My Personal Favorites:

Emma Stone - Alexander McQueen

I absolutely love Emma Stone and every time she shows up on a red carpet she looks absolutely amazing! This look is no different. And look at the handbag!!! She looks age appropriate and totally classic all at the same time.

Jayma Mays - Reem Acra

Jayma Mays was on A LOT of Worst Dressed lists but I think she looks adorable! The simple and cute ponytail and the beautiful detail on the back…it’s all beautiful!

Michelle Williams - Valentino

I love Michelle Williams more and more every time I see her. I thought she looked fabulous tonight!

Diane Lane (& Josh Brolin)

I loved everything about Diane Lane‘s look tonight. The color is beautiful and another woman who rocked a ponytail tonight!

Best Dressed

Jennifer Carpenter, Emily Blunt, Zoe Saldana, Viola Davis

Jennifer Carpenter looked gorg in Emilio Pucci. Emily Blunt, who is listed on a lot of worst dressed lists for this one, in Oscar de la Renta. I personally think it would’ve looked way better if she still had her ginger locks. Zoe Saldana, in Givenchy, looked so crisp and original. I couldn’t decide at first whether I liked it or not but after seeing it move on her down the red carpet, I became a fan. Viola Davis looked absolutely amazing in Marchesa and it’s a good thing too because Viola was one of the night’s big winners.

Kyra Sedgwick, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Stacy Keibler

Kyra Sedgwick usually doesn’t really appear on my personal radar during these things but she looked incredible tonight! She wore Emilio Pucci. Angelina Jolie looked great as well in Jenny Pachham. Now, I chose to place Ms.Jolie right next to Brad’s best bud, George Clooney and his current girlfriend Stacy Keibler because apparently, Angelina can’t stand Stacy. The story goes that Stacy made some public joke about how having to stare at Brad all the time wouldn’t be so bad and apparently Angelia Jolie goes nuts whenever anyone mentions how attractive Brad is or anything of that nature… if that’s true, that’s just another reason to be annoyed with Angelina Jolie… Angelina, even men say that Brad Pitt is a damn attractive man… he’s Brad Pitt. -Off Topic- Stacy Keibler was one of my favorite looks of the night and for someone so cheesy, I have to say she looks gorgeous at these events.

And now… here it comes…

Worst Dressed

Kristen Wiig

I can’t stand Kristen Wiig. I absolutely can not stand her. I would love to give her credit for once for this great gown but she paired it with this disgusting dog collar (which is quite appropriate when you check out her face. Woof.) way to ruin a good thing Kristen, as usual.

Kaley Cuoco, Lea Michele, Ashlee Simpson

Kaley Cucoco - What, the f*ck, were you thinking? Lea Michele - Who, the f*ck, do you think you are? Ashlee Simpson - Why, the f*ck, are you here? (Great look though… but still)

Rose Byrne, Shailene Woodley, Mya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper, Emilia Clarke

Rose Byrne (in Elie Saab) - You are not Michelle Pfeiffer. This is not Scarface. I love the choice of a pants suit but this looks kind of ridiculous. Shailene Woodley (in L’Wren Scott) - You’re not in Hawaii anymore. Nor are you winning the Jimmy Buffet Lifetime Achievement Award. Mya Rudolph - You’re lucky you’re so incredibly hysterical. This isn’t a laughing matter though. You look horrid. Ellie Kemper - I LOVE this color, especially on her, but there is something about this that I absolutely hate. I don’t know, maybe I’m jumping the gun. Maybe I love this and I don’t know it yet. I’m pretty sure I hate it though. -HUGE SIDE NOTE- Apparently, John Sexy-Ass Hamm was Ellie’s high school drama teacher. … … … yeah. I can tell you that if John Hamm were my anything teacher in high school, I totally would’ve showed up to high school. Anyway… Emilia Clarke - I love parts of this dress but on the hole (I wish John Hamm would get on my hole) I don’t like it. … … … Sorry… I’m still thinking about John Hamm.

Ok, I have to get something off my chest. Every flipping time I listen to Modern Family’s Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland speak, I cridge. Both of these women give the worst, most snotty, interviews. If they aren’t thinking it, they are definitely giving off a “I think I’m superior to all of you” vibe. Both of them just piss me off… I don’t watch the show and I’m sure it’s as amazing as everyone says it is but I also doubt that either of these people are the reason for the success or fandom. Take it easy ladies.

Sarah Hyland and Julie Bowen, afflicted with the horrible disease of bitch-face.

Ok, enough hateration. Let’s see who took home those amazing little actor awards. And this little girl’s dream, is to one day hold one of my very own.

  1. ok, so I love Michelle Williams too…..but I did not like what she was weraing! It looked like she had a lace shirt on with a basic boring red dress on top of it. I just don’t think it flowed. and wtfffffffff i hate lea michelle!!!! shes so f***ing annoying!! Seriously though, who DOES she think she is?! I saw this episode of Fashion Police where they showed a pic of her walking onto a talk show and she just looks soooo full of herself! Joan Rivers said “calm down bitch you’re walking on a stage not water!” sooo funny because its soooo true!!

    1. Me and Joan think a lot alike… I’m not sure if that’s good or bad! Lol. Lea, for realsies needs to cool her sh*t. She is FAR from awesome. She’s got a voice, she can kind of act (I’m being really giving with the “kind of” too) but she’s not nearly as talented, relevant or beloved as most celebs… The only people who like her are the annoying drama/theatre kids that actors like me have to deal with all our working lives… The ones who know they suck so they have to convince everyone how much acting is their “passion”
