Old Stand-bys & New Favs

Last night, I successfully spent less than $100 in Target!!! This is kind of an occasion for me because I always over spend when I go in there. I go in for something simple like cotton balls and walk out with 3 bathing suits, a new living room set, vintage Ts and several nail polishes. Tonight, I managed to stick to my list which consisted mainly of my favorite go-to beauty products. I wanted to share some of that favorites list even though this isn’t the first time I’ve featured any of these products.

I’ve used many razors in my time and I’ve spent various amounts of money on them, Bic’s Soleil razors have come out on top for me! Recently, I’ve been buying the Soleil Bella razors which contain 4 blades. They come in packages of 3 (some Soleils come in packages of 4), they’re disposable and they’re cheap. I paid $5.79 for this 3 pack. A three pack will last me about 6 weeks: 2 weeks per razor (dried after each use!) using each on my underarms daily and legs and delicate areas about twice a week.

The only daily body wash I use is Neutrogena’s Pink Grapefruit Body Clear Body Wash. I just don’t see any point in using any other body wash; this one has it all. I have very sensitive skin and after a particularly sweaty day or something, I can get bumps and blemishes on my body. This wash keeps all that funk and break-out under control. It smells great and helps wake me up. It’s safe to say that this product is my number 1 favorite bath/hygiene product ever! (Weekly, I also use St Ives Apricot Scrub to exfoliate.)

You guys know, I’m a makeup junkie. I’ve tried and tested many bronzers, powders and cremes and everything else. My favorite bronzer to use daily is Rimmel’s Natural Bronzer. I choose #021 Sun Light and use this waterproof powder all over my face, neck and décolletage every day. (For contouring I use a darker bronzer powder. Right now it’s Nars’ Laguna). For about $3.99, this bronzer will last all day (or night) and when used daily, will take you about 2-3 months to run out.

I’ve been a HUGE fan of YesTo products for years now. Before I saw these products on just about every store’s shelves, I was singing their praises right here on Ginger Kate. Very early on, YesTo’s Soothing Cucumber Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes became another daily go-to product for me. Last night, when picking up my usual supply, I came across YesTo’s Correct & Repair Grapefruit Brightening Facial Towelettes and wanted to give them a try. Target had a promo on most of the YesTo products that included a travel 10 pack of the cucumber wipes so I opted to grab the grapefruits. I really like them. I think these will be best used upon waking up because when I gave them a test run immediately after washing my face, the grapefruit wipes stung a bit. They’re meant to cleanse, brighten and exfoliate and from what I can tell so far, they do just that. Another fabulous YesTo product. I will definitely continue to buy the grapefruit wipes in the future but will also need my usual steady stock of cucumber wipes for nighttime use.

While Target-ing it up last night, I also picked up some new self-tanning products for my milky-white ass and I’ll be sure to post soon about how they work out. I’ll be trying out L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self-Tanning Lotion and Jergen’s Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer and Sunscreen. The game plan is to apply the L’Oreal as needed (I anticipate once or twice a week) and the Jergens daily.) I’ve had some fantastic and some horrible experiences with self tanners in my life but I’m optimistic about these new products. I guess we shall see!

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you guys like the new layout as much as I do. I needed to get back to a much more minimalist site; it just didn’t feel like my blog anymore.

Love, GK
