July 2014 :: Ipsy Glam Bag :: Sensationally Sunkissed

photo 1

There won’t be a lot of break-down for each product this month. Mostly because I’m just not that thrilled with this month’s glam bag from Ipsy. Maybe Ipsy has just lost it’s appeal for me or something but I find myself underwhelmed in recent months. I’ve been redeeming a lot of my Ipsy points for extra products and I’ve found that Ipsy has been better about offer more products more frequently for redeeming. (Which is nice because it’s been a complaint of mine for several months.) Without any further ado, here is what I received in my July Glam Bag:

  • BareMinerals – 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow in Barely Nude – It’s a neutral cream eyesahdow. BareMinerals is one of my favorite brands and I’ll definitely put this to use. But still: *snore*
  • Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm in Pretty Pink – I’m really digging this lip balm. My only complaint is that it’s a mini version and, in the past, Ipsy has featured full size Pixi products (including lipsticks)
  • Pur-lisse Pur-protect essential daily moisturizer spf 30 – Another f*cking moisturizer/sunscreen. Yay.
  • Marrakesh Hair Care Marrakesh Endz – Is there really such a thing as a split end fixer?
  • Models Own Nail Polish in Red Sea – I paired this transparent red with glitter polish over Essie’s Serial Shopper (a coral shade) and I like the bright results. My over all opinion, though, is that this product (and maybe even this brand) is a bit cheap and cheesy. 11 year old me would’ve had no problem at all with it.

There it is. Thanks for reading! If you’re interested in becoming a Ipsy Subscriber, please CLICK HERE to sign up. Once a member, you’ll receive your own personalized link to share with others (and be able to collect those Ipsy Points redeemable for goodies!)

June 2014 :: Ipsy Glam Bag :: Pretty In Paradise

20140615-083717-31037608.jpg

My June Ipsy Glam Bag is fantastic! It’s really one of my favorite bags ever! I was super disappointed with last month’s bag and found myself, once again, on the brink of cancellation. It’s bags like this that make me remember everything I love about being an Ipsy subscriber: the products I received this month are all products I can and will use and (more than likely) would not have discovered on my own.

June’s bag, which was designed by Rebecca Minkoff, included some pretty fabulous products. My bag included:

  • Be A Bombshell – Lash Out Mascara : I’m a fan of B.A.B. products and have high hopes for this mascara.
  • Nicka K New York – Shimmer Eyeliner in Blue : The color is beautiful and the texture is superb. Easy to apply, long-lasting. Gorgeous
  • NYX – Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel : A simple pinky-peach. Feels a bit heavy on lips but looks nice.
  • Dove – Pure care Dry Oil
  • Realtree – for Her perfume : Not one of my favorite scents.

This month, I also received two products that I redeemed tipsy points for. It’s safe to say, these two products are my favorites that I have been able to claim with tipsy points. (This month’s delivery is just FULL of favorites!!)

I was able to score a full size tube of bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Light It Up and four different face masks from Baksshi Botanicals: 1.) Aloe Vera for Moisture 2.) Vitamin C for Brightening 3.) Honey for Hydro Balance 4.) Marine Algae for Collagen

Here’s a closer look at the beautiful Light It Up lipstick. I really love the tube itself with its unique locking mechanism.

I’m so happy with my delivery this month and all the amazing goodies I can play around with.

March 2014 :: Ipsy Glam Bag :: Destination Beauty

Destination Beauty

March 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag

This month’s glam bag only contained 4 products. That in itself is a bit of a disappointment. However, the 4 products I received are all products I’m pretty happy to get. From what I can see of other Ipsy subscriber’s bags, they also received 4 good products. This month I also received one of the products I redeemed ipsy points for: the NYX kit. The theme, Destination Beauty, is meant to inspire upcoming travels and use with ease on vacay. I love that the bag showcases the work of an up-and-coming San Francisco based artist, Klari Reis.

Here’s what my bag contained:

  • bareMinerals – Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready I’m a fan of the Marvelous Moxie lip glosses but this is the first MM lipstick I’ve tried. I really like it. It applies well, stays nicely and the color is a natural, subtle color thats perfect for anytime. I only wish the sample were bigger.

  • Nicole by O.P.I. – Roughles in On What Grounds Very similar to the O.P.I. Liquid Sand polishes with a grainy (sandy), rough texture. I like the color, a bit of an easter egg/tiffanys blue and the testured polishes are fun to play with. The only thing I don’t like bout this polish is how long it took to dry.

  • Be a Bombshell – Eyeshadow Quad in Bora Bora I’m always happy to try another Be a Bombshell product and I’m loving the colors in this quad. A golden shimmer dark brown, a bright teal, gold and copper. This quad only exacerbates my desire to go on vacation.

  • Pixi Beauty – Flawless Beauty Primer – I’ve only used this primer once so far but I liked it. It feels light and holds the makeup. It has a very very subtle tint to it and leaves a light golden glow so I’m planing on trying this without any foundation on top. I feel like this primer can provide enough correction and coverage with the assistance of a light concealer.

As mentioned, I redeemed 1000 tipsy points for an additional item. This month, I got the NYX Bronze Smokey Look Kit. The kit contains 9 neutral tones shadows; a tan/gold/brown palette. The kit also contains two lip glosses: 1, a rosey pink and 2, a golden shimmer.

Another satisfactory month for me. I redeemed another 1000 tipsy points and along with my April 2014 Glam Bag, I’ll be receiving TokyoMILK Dark by Margot Elena Salted Caramel Lip Elixir.

In other news, I’ve been dealing with a broken collarbone for the last 4 weeks. This is the first week I am not using my figure eight brace; the first week was HORRIBLE! It hurt so badly. Everything hurt so badly. I got into a car accident and when the seatbelt tightened up, it snapped my clavicle. No fun. Now that I’m mostly healed, it’s time to buy another new car. Needless to say, it’s been a stressful month. I do have a bunch of neat tips on how to dress yourself as well as do your hair and makeup with one arm. Maybe I’ll have to share some of my tested tactics.

As always, thank you for reading. And a special thank you to some of you wonderful readers who signed up for your own tipsy glam bags by using my link. You helped me earn the tipsy points I’ve been happily cashing in recently: Lisa, Allison, Caroline, Susan, Kenya, Morgan, Erica, Melanie, Abbigail and everyone else!!

Sephora :: In The Glow

104

By now, you all know just how much I love my Sephora sets. The Sephora In The Glow set is another one I picked up not too long ago and have yet to share with you. For only $45 this set is, as usual, an absolute steal! Here’s what Sephora.com has to say about the In The Glow set:

What it is: Shimmer, gleam and glow with nine of Sephora’s bestselling complexion enhancers including a selection of blushes, bronzers and luminizers.

What it does: This coveted nine-piece set contains three blushes, three bronzers, and three luminizers. Choose from an array of different finishes from creams to powders to liquids to create the perfect glow!

110

This set, as stated above, included 9 amazing goodies to help your face look its best and give you that glow. I’ll have reviews for each of the products featured in future posts, but for now, I’d like to just share with you all that this set includes.

1.) Benefit – High Beam

126

2.) Too Faced – Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder

3.) Tarte – Natural Cheek Stain – Flush

125

7.) bareMinerals – All Over Face Color – Pure Radiance

138

8.) Laura Mercier – Shimmer Bloc – Golden Mosaic

9.) Nars – Bronzing Powder – Laguna

That’s everything for this Sephora set! The sets that Sephora puts together are a great way to expand your makeup collection. I’m the type of makeup user who enjoys having as many options at my disposal as possible. I can’t do with just one shade of blush, or bronzer, or anything really. That’s why I keep going back for the Sephora sets!

When I bought the In The Glow set, I also picked up a few other goodies. Here’s a picture of the entire haul:

I’ll be posting about the Sephora Lasting Impression Deluxe Sample Kit (that I picked up for free) and the Too Faced Beauty Editor Darlings Set in this haul tomorrow and Wednesday, so check back!

Sephora :: Glitz and Glam Set

SEPHORA GLITZ & GLAM PARTY SAMPLER

012

Ahhh… Look at all those sparkly goods. Don’t you just love the holidays (and GLITTER!)? And for $45, this set is a STEAL!! A steal, I tell you!! I’m certainly happy that I ordered it when I did because it is no longer available on Sephora.com. Usually they will still feature items and just say “out of stock”, this is no longer on the website anywhere.

Sephora fans know that the Sephora team can put together quite the set. I’ve purchased a couple of their sets (sampler or not) in the past and I am never disappointed. I spotted the Glitz and Glam sampler and purchased it immediately. It is packed full of fabulous finds to rock it this holiday season.

I made this purchase before Halloween and I’ve had plenty of time to play with the goods; I am in love with everything in this set. (There’s so much! and so much SPARKLE!) If you read my post from back when I ordered this originally, you know that I had to send back my entire set and have it replaced because the Lorac product was cracked open during delivery. It was well worth it though because that Lorac product just might be my absolute favorite product in this sampler. (I’ll get to the Lorac specifics soon enough)

Everything came inside a delightful gold makeup bag. It’s a metallic, “distressed” bag and it’s the perfect size for your daily picks. That’s exactly what I do; Whatever combo of products I’m using for the day, I pack into this bag and carry with me. But what is more important are the goodies inside; here goes!

Stila – Duo Shimmer Powder :: KITTEN :: As an eye shadow, this is a little too sheer for my tastes but as a highlighter and overall face powder, I love it!

029

Laura Mercier – Baked Eye Color Wet/Dry :: BLACK KARAT :: I love Laura Mercier products and this wet/dry shadow is amazing. This shadow takes your smokey eye and turns it into the perfect holiday smokey eye. glistening from the dark are gold sparkles; just enough for a glitzy pop of sparkle.

031

bareMinerals – Eyecolor :: GOOD FORTUNE :: This shimmery powder isn’t restricted to use on only your eye lids. It’s perfect for giving your cheek bones a nice shimmer too!

030

Sephora by OPI – Nail Color :: Looks Like Rain, Dear :: Crummy picture, I know, but this polish packs a powerful punch of holiday cheer. (And I think the name is kind of adorable.) Great color to bring you into the New Year!

016

Josie Maran – GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara :: BLACK :: I like Josie Maran products and this mascara is no exception. It’s great to have on hand but it’s really no more special than any other black, volumizing mascara.

028

Nars – 1oz Body Glow :: This stuff is amazing! I don’t know what I’ve been doing my whole life without it. I like to rub some of this amazing  body glow on my upper chest, collar bones and shoulders for a beautiful party shimmer. Makes me feel like a Bond girl every time I wear it! *One of my favorite products in the set!*

020

Lorac – 3D Liquid Lustre :: GOLD :: This product and the Nars Body Glow are my two favorite products in the set. This one is perfect for brightening up your face for party-mode. When I combine this Liquid Lustre with any of my eye shadows, it completely transforms the color and look! I will definitely buy a bottle of this baby again in the future! (This is the products that broke during shipping when I originally received my Glitz and Glam sampler set. I’m so glad I had it replaced!)

018

Bare Escentuals – Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss :: TRAIL BLAZER :: I love the marvelous moxie lip glosses from bare escentuals. I was so happy that this set came with a full size tube. The color is the perfect nude with a hint of rosie pink. High gloss shine. A win in my book!

017

Stila – Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner :: STARFISH :: I’m a big fan of Stila’s smidge stick liners. I almost bought one of these when I was cashing in my Birchbox points before cancelling my subscription with them and I’m glad I didn’t because I got one in this marvelous sampler pack!

037

There you have it! The Sephora Favorites Glitz and Glam Party Sampler! I hope Sephora restocks this one for the future; it’s definitely a fantastic buy! 9 completely amazing, to-die-for products for $45… you can’t go wrong.
