11th Doctor Cosplay for Karaoke

Cosplay Karaoke nights is officially a monthly thing with me and my friends, the Treasure Coast Cosplayers. This month, I did a closet cosplay of the 11th Doctor.

As per usual, we all dressed-up, drank a lot, sang a lot and nerded-out.

Afterwards, a few of us kept the party going at Dennys and pissed off some people with our antics… it happens, I guess.

Treasure Coast Comic Con ’15

This past weekend was the very first Treasure Coast Comic Con! In anticipation of this local con, earlier this year, the Treasure Coast Cosplayers formed. Since the groups creation, we’ve grown to include hundreds of cosplayers and con enthusiasts from the Treasure Coast and surrounding areas. We make up excuses to cosplay and hang out and we always have a fun time! TCC showed up and showed out at TCCC ’15 and I’m so proud to be apart of that! Here’s a bit of my TCCC 2015 experience.

Day 1

My best friend Kacie and I attended Saturday as Poison Ivy & Harley Quinn. We got to snap pics with our mini-me’s. (I gotta tell you, this little girl made me feel like a Disney Princess the way she hugged me!)

We spent most of the day hanging with other TCC members. (I even got to meet a local 10!)

Day 2

Sunday was quieter all around. About half as many attendees over all but we still had a pretty large TCC group in attendance.

I met Iron Man and hung out with fellow Whovians.

But the most exciting part of the day was that the promoters for the event asked our group if we would take a picture with all of the celebrity guests in attendance! It was awesome!

The weekend was a complete success for me! I got to play with the TARDIS both days and I was proud of the two cosplays I worked hard making: Poison Ivy and The Doctor (10th, Brown Suit)

I can’t wait for TCCC ’16. Thanks to all the awesome people who made this weekend so much fun for me. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KACIE! I love you!

MegaCon 2015!

Today, Sarah, Brooke and I made our way up to Orlando where we ran amok with more of our kind at MegaCon 2015. My only regret was that we were only able to attend on Sunday; I would’ve loved to spend the entire weekend (there’s always next year!)

The day was packed with a lot of running around the convention center, waiting in lines for events and bonding with fellow nerds, particularly Whovians. And there was a lot of Doctor Who love around. For a while, Sarah and I hung out and posed for photos with a large group of Doctors. It was the precise type of experience I was looking forward to having with my nerdy comrades. So many thanks to our “handler” Brooke for holding all our stuff and snapping pics!

I even ran into my 10 counterpart, the best damn River Song I’ve ever seen and a pretty dapper Captain Jack Harkness.

Four shared his Jelly Babies with me, this Dalek may have been one of my favorite parts of the day and please check out that War Doctor… right?

Our Sunday was mostly Doctor Who oriented. First stop of the day was our photo meet & greet with Karen Gillan. We played with other Whovians throughout the day and before ending our MegaCon Sunday on the floor, we attended the Doctor Who panel with Karen Gillan and Alex Kingston.

…it is so not typical that I am the shortest girl in a picture (nobody wearing heels…)

The three of us made sure we got plenty of Star Wars dorking-out in also when we visited the 501st Legion.

2016, I’d like to spend the entire weekend at MegaCon, especially since they’re adding a fourth day! The only damper on the day was that our Mom was there with us. She got so jazzed about Norman Reeds attending and purchased multiple passes to meet him and about a week before the con, it was announced that his Sunday appearances would be cancelled. Mom was so disappointed she opted not to attend at all.

Thanks for reading! I’d love to hear about your MegaCon 2015 experiences!

Prep for MegaCon 2015

Tomorrow, my two companions and I head to MegaCon 2015 in Orlando! I wanted to share some the prep work I did for my Tenth Doctor cosplay as well as my TARDIS tote bag!

FullSizeRender_2

It is a very rare thing that you have such amazing thrift store luck but when the cosplay gods smile upon you, they smile big. When my sister and I went thrift store shopping for our Doctor Who cosplay pieces, our first stop produced both Tennant-style suits: blue with red stripes and brown with white stripes. The stripes on the brown suit are supposed to be light blue but how amazing are these two finds?! I made some alternations to the blue suit for MegaCon, breaking out the sewing machine my ex got me years ago.

In need of a large bag to lug around the con, I used an old tote bag and an old TARDIS t-shirt to make this little gem. I added some of my nerdy “flair” to create my new Con Bag.

I wish I had documented my alternations better but I was working on a time crunch (as usual). Thanks for reading!
