Frederic Fekkai

The other day at work, I received a letter from the staff at the Palm Beach Frederic Fekkai Salon (located in The Brazilian Court Hotel). In the letter they invited me to visit their salon and receive a complimentary hair cut! (Working in concerige has its perks!)

I’m am so looking forward to having my hair styled by one of the Frederic Fekkai hair artists! I have until the end of June to get my cut and I will of course let you all know how it turned out!

Alex and Ani (+) energy

Recently, a rep from the Alex and Ani boutique on Worth Ave in Palm Beach visited the hotel where I work and gave one of my coworkers (and newest friend) an energy infused, single charm bangle for each of the ladies who worked upfront. (So nice!) I was given the choice of a Fluer de Lis, a Peace sign and the one I chose:

The Star of Venus

This bangle just “spoke” to me. I knew we belonged together. I especially love the feminine power that this energy infused bracelet was supposed to evoke:

… yeah, this is totally my cup of tea. You can think I’m crazy, but I dig positive energy. 😉

It’s so adorable! and I love beads and bangles and this piece will make an excellent addition to my regular wears.

When I got home, I researched the company and loved everything about them from their eco-friendly practices and their new age philosophy. I think their mission statement says it all:

“Alex and Ani’s mission is to design products that adorn the body, enlighten the mind, and empower the spirit. Alex and Ani’s collections reflect a design aesthetic that celebrates each wearer’s unique essence. Owner and designer Carolyn Rafaelian believes it is her life’s work to inspire her customers to relish what is unique and authentic about themselves. Alex and Ani’s artistry lies in drawing out the beauty that resides within.”

How fabulous?

I absolutely adore my Star of Venus bangle and always love getting free stuff! Thanks, Alex and Ani!! I will definitely buy another piece. Or two. Or more. I want a necklace so bad now! And there’s saint charms for good catholic girls like me! 😉

Check out the Alex and Ani site and see if there’s a location or retailer near you!

This is only the second time I’ve had the pleasure of writing about an amazing gift I’ve received from a business and it’s jewelry again!! (A girl could get used to this.) The first time it happened, the owner of the business, The Gauze Shop in Downtown Stuart, FL, really appreciated it!

Owl Earrings from The Gauze Shop

Love my new Star of Venus bangle! Thank you Alex and Ani!

The Gauze Shop

Today, one of the coolest things happened while I was at work.

I was outside on the sidewalk and started chatting with Michelle, the owner of a new store that just opened in Downtown Stuart. The store is called The Gauze Shop. They sell resort lifestyle clothing: very flowy, very light. But they also have some really awesome and unique jewlery. Lots of natural stones and rare styles.

Well I was wearing my Black and Silver Owl set (seen above – Christmas Gift from My Mom), and Michelle complimented me on them and said she had a pair of earrings that match my set. She ran inside the shop, grabbed the earrings and showed them to me. They are adorable! Only $22 too! I told her I would be back to buy them when I got my paycheck on Thursday and she took them off their sale backing and handed them to me. She told me she would give them to me at half price if I handed out some of her cards when people asked about them. I told her no problem, I would be happy to support her small local NEW business. She went inside for cards and I followed her in wear I proceeded to look at the other amazing jewelry she has. As Michelle handed me more cards she said the earrings were FREE for me in thanks for spreading the word about her business. I attempted to talk her out of this (I would love to give my money to a small local business.) but she insisted.

Free earrings. So I’m doing my best to keep up my end of the bargain, today alone I’ve handed out two of her cards and now, as you are well aware, I am spreading the word via blog. I wish there was a website to direct you guys to, but unfortunately its not set up. 😦

If you’re a local reader: Please stop by The Gauze Shop and take a look at her amazing inventory yourself. She’s located in Downtown Stuart at: 53 SW Flagler Avenue. Stuart, FL 34994 (the backside address is: 43 Osceola Street. Stuart, FL 34994) She’s between The Lyric Theatre and Lunas Italian Restaurant.

It just made my day to be able to help a small business owner (who just gave me a an awesome gift!)
