2012 Golden Globe Awards

Ricky Gervais hosted the 2012 Golden Globe Awards tonight in spite of or beacuse of all the headlines he made last year with his jabs at all of Hollywood’s elite. I love Ricky and was disappointed at how infrequently throughout the show that he was actually allowed to speak. Is it really considered hosting if you only make an appearance on stage once every hour?

Host of the 2012 Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais

Tonight’s Golden Globe awards provided some AMAZING looks and some awkward moments. In fact one of the most awkward things to happen started during E! New’s red carpet coveage, where Fashion Police’s Kelly Osbourne kept insisting how much Sophia Vergara’s dress looked like hers…. I’ll let you decide, but I’m sure you’ll come to the same conclision as I did…. Yeah, poor Kelly.

Sophia looks amazing!!! and so does Betty White!

Lets start with my favorite looks from the Red Carpet and to begin, The Best Looking Gingers.

Emma Stone - One of my favorite gingers and one of my favorite looks from the evening.

Nicole Kidman

Debra Messing

Julianne Moore - I wouldve liked this even more if it didn't have the frill in the middle. Also, absolutely love the green earrings!!!

Here are the other looks of the evening that I absolutely loved:

Zooey Deschanel - This was my absolute favorite look of the night! Plus, I am a huge fan of fun fingernails and Zooey's were painted like little tuxedos!

Evan Rachel Wood - I loved her feathery frock!

Reese Witherspoon

Angelina Jolie - LOVE the pops of red. Hated all the pretentiousness on the red carpet.

Charlize Theron

Kate Beckinsale

Other Great Looks:

Claire Danes and Heidi Klum both looked fabulous!

Mila Kunis, Jessica Alba, Kate Winselt, Sophia Veragara

Rooney Mara, Kristen Wiig - even though I cant stand her, Nicole Richie - not sure why she was there though, Selma Hayek

But the ladies were not alone in the Best Looks department. Here are, who I think, were the best dressed men of the evening… it doesn’t have a lot to do with what they wore either.

Ewan Gregor - that fine piece of scottish a.., Zachary Levi - the sweet piece I only recently noticed, now I'm in love. Johnny Depp - loved the emerald green vest and pocket watch with matching green face!, Elton John and David Furnish, Leonardo DiCaprio

…. and the worst looks:

1.) Jessica Beil - she must have been so excited about her recent engagement to Justin Timberlake (and who wouldnt be?) that she time traveled back to 1902 to pick out her wedding dress.I'm just not sure why she's wearing it to the Golden Globes. 2.) Kelly MacDonald - you are amazing on Boardwalk Empire. You just look awful though. 3.) Emily Gould - Homeland's housewife... why are you dressed like a call girl brought on a trip to Monte Carlo? 4.) Missi Pyle - ??? when did you start doing real movies?

1.) Busy Philips... I can't even begin right now. 2.) Sarah Michelle Gellar and Piper Perabo - what, the f*ck, whereyou guys thinking? 3.) Connie Britton - this is a dressy kind of occasion. you shoulve rsvp'ed no to the bbq you came from before you arrived if you weren't going to have time to change.

1.) Julie Bowen - not only do you look horrible, but you annoy me, a lot. 2.) Laura Linney - this is ugly. 3.) Natalie Portman - too plain. 4.) Tina Fey - I love you so much. Why the puffy hair and ugly gown?

Madonna didn't look as gross and dead as she usualy does, so that good I guess. But the one glove and cheap-looking chunky cross necklace just made the dress look worse.

Sharon!? Why???I love you so much. I adore you... what is this?

On with the show……

One of the first shots which led to one of my first thoughts of the show was “Look how amazing Nicole Kidman and Harrison Ford look together. Must better than her shrimpy little husband and his girlfriend… whats her name?

Here come the awkward moments… Johnny Depp can make most moments awkward (and yet still so sexy) but this was uber weird.

Whats worse than Adam Levine behind a mic? Jimmy Fallon behind the same mic. I absolutely can not stand either of these guys and NBC thought it would be just fab to stick them on stage together. Jimmy was clearly auditioning for next year’s hosting job and doing what he does best: not be funny.

Here are some of the night’s winners:

Claire Danes and Kate Winslet both picked up awards.

George Clooney with his beautiful girlfriend for the year Stacey Keibler and Michelle Williams

Homeland, a show I LOVE, won for Best TV Drama.

Morgan Freeman was presented with the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievment award by Dame Helen Mirren and Sydney Poitier

I must include this little gem from Morgan’s time spent on The Electric Company.

some not so surprising winners: Steven Speilberg and Meryl Street (who at least pretended to be shocked and then admitted she had a speech prepared when she realized she forgot her glasses.)

Lots of great fashion! Lots of semi-good talent! Some deserved awards. Lots of awkward moments and a crap-load of photo-bombing… did anyone else notice? Celebs were creeping into each others camera time all through the night… it was hilarious.

2012 People’s Choice Awards

Tonight were the 2012 People’s Choice Awards. I’ll get to to winners and stuff later, but first: The Red Carpet Fashion.

I like to start things on a positive note, so here are my favorite looks for the night:

Ashley Greene - Peoples Choice Awards. I think Ashley is one of the most beautiful woman in Hollywood right now and I have a total girl crush on her! For me, Miss Greene can usually do no wrong.

Ashley Benson - Peoples Choice Awards. I had to look up who this actress was.Turns out she on the show Pretty Little Liars (and I've been meaning to catch that one... yeah,no). Her dress is adorable and I love the clutch!

Jennifer Lawrence - Peoples Choice Awards. I'm one of those people who can not wait for the release of The Hunger Games! This is my absolutel favorite dress of the evening!!! So Amazing!

Lucy Hale - Peoples Choice Awards. Now, this one I recognized as being from the show Pretty Little Liars from all the melodramatic commercials. I absolutely love this dress. At first, I didn't know if I liked it or not, but, alas, I do!

Kristen Bell - Peoples Choice Awards. Love her. Love this dress.

Kaley Cuoco - Peoples Choice Awards. I have to give credit to the hostess of the even and her adorable red carpet gown!

and now…. The Worsts.

WORST LOOKS: Demi Lavato - Ew. Tip: put away your shoulders... for good. Kat Dennings and Caroline Channing look like real like Broke Girls. Step it up ladies, you're winners tonight.

WORSTS: Allison Hannigan - Why? I love you so much. Busy Philips - I'm not sure why I hate this so much... but I do. Kelly Osbourne - You should know better. Nina Dobrev - you look like an Atlantic City hooker.

and now, a special award. This dress is great. The bold lipstick is great. However, the lame woman in the look just can’t pull it off. Which I’m not surprised about considering she can’t pull of a genuine emotion in front of a camera other than egotism. (I’m guessing that has something to do with genuinely being incredibly egotistical.)

The WORST, BEST look:

Leah Michelle - Peoples Choice Awards. Ugh. She reminds me of every one of the worst-kind-of-obnoxious theatre students i've had to put up with during my years of theatre..... and she looks horrible in that awesome dress.

Ok. So basically, they hand out an award for absolutely, positively anything. Most of the wards were given out ahead of time or something because those bitches from Pretty Little Liars kept popping up on jumbo trons to announce them… and as you have noticed, the Pretty Little Liars were in the audience for the ceremony… whatever.

I have a full list of the winners below, but here are a few of the nights events.

Robert Pattinson accepted for Water for Elephants and the world gasped that he cut his hair without consulting them first. The two broke girls reminded me of two drunk girls who would piss me off at a dorm party. Ginnifer and Jennifer from Once Upon A Time both presented looking like a bad artistic interpretation of the 1960s. And NPH, who-I-love, took home an award too.

So they presented an award for “Best Actor Under 25 or something” and 4 out of the 5 nominees were from (MY FAVORITE) Harry Potter: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson (Girl Crush to the max!), Rupert Grint & Tom Felton. I was like “Woooo-Weeee, we got an H.Pizzle showdown right here!”

and the winner is: some random little chick. – Whaaaaaaat?!

I can’t talk about The 2012 Peoples Choice Awards without mentioning the god awful, disaster of a performance by Demi Lavato. What. The. F*ck do her fans hear/see in her? It was absolutely dreadful. At first I was like “Oh how nice to sound decent with a back track during the hard parts.” BUT THEN it was just ALL terrible!

And the Cankles?! I won’t even address those briquets. (You know, female-to-female respect and all…. )

BUT THEN THEY HANDED HER AN AWARD!!!!! I didn’t know what was going on.

A lot of things happened that I just didn’t understand, but thats what you get from an award show that is primarily voted on by people within the ages 12-17. (Green Lantern as Favorite Superhero this year? Really?)

At least I got to look at these two perfect human beings:

The Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth

Here’s a full list of 2012 Peoples Choice Award Winners.

2010 Emmys Red Carpet Fashion

Tonight’s Emmy Awards were surprisingly fantastic! I usually watch anyway, but I’ve never seen it done so… entertainingly. (Is that a word?) It was hysterical throughout, even though Jimmy Fallon was hosting. The opening segment was amazing! (Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey have to help some of the kinds from Glee find enough people to enter a competition and John Hamm made me fall even more in love with him.) However the best part of watching any award show is seeing all the amazing and amazingly horrid fashions on the red carpet. I, like many, have my own opinions of the night’s looks.

Claire Danes was by far the best dressed winner.
I didn’t see whatever the hell that movie is she won for, but she looked fabulous.

Couples

Cutest couple had to be Emily Blunt and John Krazinski!
These newlyweds are both gorgeous and adorable!

Anna Paquin looked horrible. I’m sorry, I want to love whatever the hell she wears, but this is too much… too much of a lot of stuff. In fact, I would have said she was one of the worst dressed people there if it weren’t for that amazing accessory she calls her husband:
the super-fox, Stephen Moyer.

David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris looked amazing! They coordinated, by being uncoordinated and it looked fantastic!

On-screen Brother & Sister and off-screen
Lovers,
Dexter’s
Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter looked great!

In fact, snaps to their Dexter co-star Julie Benz as well for looking that fabulous!

Casts
The Members of the Glee cast were definitely hit or miss.

Jayma Mays looked absolutely adorable! and I just love her anyway!

Amber Riley looked beautiful.

Leah Michele didn’t look
horrible, but it wasn’t one of my favorites…
it’s a bit contrived, don’t ‘cha think?

I
love the dress. It’s fantastic and it would totally fulfill all my Gone with the Wind dreams to wear it. Unfortunately, Dianna Agron is no Vivian Leigh. No

I was so sadly disappointed by the cast of Mad Men!

I don’t know what kind of drugs January Jones is on that drove her to think anything about this was ok, but maybe those drugs are the same reason why she’s being written off the show… (yeah, during her interview on the E! Red Carpet pre-show, January referred to this being “the last season” and it is most definitely not the last season for the AMC’s highest rated show. She tried to back peddle and say how she “treats every season like it’s the last”… but I don’t think thats fooling anyone.)

It pains me to say this. I ♥ me some Christina Hendricks/Joan Holloway. And I can appreciate the
1920’s flair to the dress… and I love purple… but I was not a huge fan of Christina Hendricks’s look. 😦 I’m crushed…. at least shes on everyoneelse’s “best dressed” lists.

and speaking of Mad Men. The Hill’s Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt both received Mad Men inspired make overs on the E! Red Carpet pre-show. It seems lots of lists disagree with me, but I think they both looked adorable!

Lo looked absolutely radiant in that green dress and the nail polish and lips look great with it.

Stephanie looks so foxy and fabulous. I love ♥♥♥ the dress and I want one now.

There were, of course, some looks that just didn’t work.

I love The Office and Mindy Kaling from The Office, but this is just… well, I’m going to just assume it’s a quirky, ironic joke.

Kris Jenner. Kris, this looks gross, and bulky.

Some of my favorites were:

I didn’t even recognize her, but Kelly Osbourne looked amazing…
She just looked gorgeous!

I absolutely love Sofia Vergara!
And in my opinion, she was one of the best dressed people of the night.

My favorite “looks”, however, were the Grecian Gowns. I always ♥ this style, and the all white looked stunning!

Kim Kardashian. Beautiful. I love the all white and Kim looks delightful.
Did I mention how much I love the Greek Goddess look?

Rose Byrn from Damages also looked amazing in a Greek inspired white flowing gown.
I just love it!
