Fashion Put It All On Me – l.g.

Here is another reblog of mine. Originally posted over a year ago, I wanted to reblog to share, again, what are still some of my favorite images. I promise I wont be making a habit out of this rebloging old posts thing, but I just started my new job and wanted to have some material scheduled to post… 🙂 Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

I was doing some Google Image Browsing and I found these beautiful pictures. I wish I knew each of the photographers and models so that I could relay that information but that would have taken much more research than I had time. 😦

None of these pictures are my artwork.

2012 Grammy Awards

Last night, the 54th Annual Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angelos. The Grammys are one of my favorite awards shows because I am obsessed with, live, breathe music. Now, the Grammys really only cater to a fraction of my musical tastes because only a fraction of the music I enjoy is commericla enough to be recognized by the mainstream media outlets (Which is more than perfectly fine with me. I HATE when something I love so much (especially a band) is polluted and ruined by bandwagon fans. Now, thats not to say that I hate when bands “sell out” and find success in the mainstream. I’m a girl who wants her cake and to eat it too I guess… Enough of this tangent.) But at least the Grammys can usually deliver a few great, memorable performances and of course, my favorite, the perfect outlet for fabulous fashion! Shall we then?

Rihanna at the 2012 Grammy Awards

Rihanna, for me, looked the best on the red carpet. I love everything about this from the plunging neckline to the Louboutins. Her amazing, wild hair and makeup complete everything that is fabulous about this look.

Kate Beckinsale, Kelly Rowland and Queen Adele all looking fab at the 2012 Grammys

One of my biggest Girl Crushes is Kate Beckinsale and at the Grammys, she looked amazing! I also loved Kelly Rowland; her gown is gorg and her hair is fierce. And Queen Adele is the winner of the world looking amazing and classic.

Jajjie J, Corinne Bailey Rae and Kelly Osbourne

Jessie J looked like my Mirror-Ballgown Dream come true! I love this! Corinne Bailey Rae, one of my favorite female musicians, looked totally gorgeous and completely awesome all at the same time. Kelly Osbourne looked so elegant! (and I love her)

John Legend, Most of Kings of Leon, Common

Guys were looking swagertastic last night as well.

Ok, she’s bat-sh*t crazy, but I have to give credit to Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga at the 2012 Grammy Awards

She may be to good to walk the red carpet, but I love that she looks like a citizen of The Capitol (THE HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!). Who else but Gaga can pull off a full body veil and a golden staff? Not Nicki Minaj, thats for damn sure. And come on, she’s hanging with Sir Paul McCatney…

***Can we please take a moment to recognize how brave it was of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton to sit next to her… those poor, pimple love-fools.***

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

Katy Perry, I am so disappointed. WTF is this anyway? First of all, your dress doesn’t have to match your hair. Second, this looks like a bridesmaid gown from 1978. Taylor Swift annoys the crap out of me anyway, this gown makes her look like some 80s Hong Kong call girl.

Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, Fergie

I’m not even sure why I hate this look on Alicia Keys, but I do. She wearing the same Christina Louboutin heels as Rihanna (go back and look.), but with Rihanna’s long gown, the little toes sticking out awkwardly doesn’t stand out so much. I’m also not digging the gold amour protecting her neck and chest. Carrie Underwood looks winder than a double-wide trailer. (Now even her fans can understand why I hate this gown.) Everyone kept talking about how “daring” Fergie was for wearing this. First of all, it’s screaming for attention. Second, if she was so damn daring she wouldn’t have selected rib-high granny panties to wear underneath (yeah, we know you’re looking for that all day tummy control Fergie). And Finally, this color combo only reminds me of Halloween, which is my favorite holiday and somehow appropriate for how scarey this is. Ugh.

Nicki Minaj's most recent desperate cry for attention

You. Are. Not. Gaga, Bitch. This is not a “statement”. This is, yet another, desperate cry for attention. We may have been shocked by Madonna’s ‘Like a Prayer” when it came out but this is not shocking. This is not thought-provoking. This is stupid.

Every award show and it’s given red carpet has a few attendees that just make me question: “Why the f*ck are you here?” From now on, I will have a special part of each red carpet post specifically for this: WTFAYH?! The Grammys presented me with at least three of these attendees:

WTFAYH? Why The F*ck Are You Here, Rebecca Black, Paris Hilton and Snooki?

Jennifer Hudson, Bruno Mars, The Beach Boys with Foster the People and Maroon5

Of course, at every oppertunity, somebody mentioned Whitney Houston.. ok.. then we had to watch Jennifer Hudson do her best impression of her. Bruno Mars gave, what I thought, was an incredible performance! The Beach Boys performed with Foster the People and Maroon5, performing with Maroon5 being their first mistake. They’re clearly… aged. And where the hell was John Stamos?!

Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj,Taylor Swift.

Ok, Katy Perry’s performance in a very unflattering costume was pretty horrid. I hate to say it because I love Katy but the dopplerganger opening with “E.T.” and then this new, very angry song about moving on… go over-eat ice cream and talk about your ex with girlfriends… And Nicki Minaj. Um….. Waste. Of.Time. Every moment of Nicki’s performance, complete with a completely stupid and completely unnecessary video of “Roman”, all I could think was that that time could have (and should have) been given to Paul McCartney… I’m just sayin’. Taylor Swift… what is this elaborate, hillbilly set? I don’t get you… and you’re f*cking lame. Oh, I’m sorry, am I being ‘mean’? Maybe it’s because everything you do is horrible… and Beyonce had one of the best babies of the year…

Rihanna performs with Coldplay and cuddles with Katy Perry in the audience.

Rihanna’s performance with Coldplay made me totally go “wtf?” when it started… then I started asking “Where the hell is Coldplay?” Chris Martin finally showed up and the performance was… eh… But Rihanna and Katy Perry cuddling in the audience was way adorable and more entertaining to watch than her performance.

Adele's performance at the 2012 Grammys

Queen Adele was breath-taking, mind-blowing, tear-jerking and over-all incredible, as usual. I can’t say how much I love this woman. She is so freaking amazing and I can listen to her albums from start to finish and enjoy them every time… especially when I want to cry for a bit or belt my lungs out (alone. by myself. so nobody gets hurt.)

Paul McCartney performed twice at the 54th annoual Grammy Awards

Oh Paul. SIR Paul McCartney. I can not express how much I love this man either. I share this love with so mnay and thats one of the things I find most beautiful about him. Paul first performed a song from his new cd “Kisses on the Bottom” but then took the stage again with Bruce Springdstien, The Foo Fighters and others who had b=performed earlier in the night. He performed, the impecible, Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End… I died.

***Look how awesome Dave Grohl looks! (Love that man too!)***

Adele is the 54th Annual Grammy Awards' big winner

And the winners are: Adele. Adele. and Adele. … She swept the damn show. I was so happy every time they called her name and every time she accepted it was adorable and gracious and so classy.

Adele cleaning up at the 2012 Grammys

and some other people won too… INCLUDING, the hilarious, Louis C.K.! Yepp…

Grammy Winner, Louis C.K.

Some of these charities do not have a minimum donation, others have a minimum of donating at least $10. Come on… it’s $10. THE SALVATION ARMY donate on facebook

If you are uncomfortable giving your information on-line, most of these organizations except donations over the phone or by mail as well. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give what you can. “Every little bit helps”. I’ve personally chosen to donate to The American Red Cross, but wherever you choose to make your donation is up to you. It will help. Please make sure before donating, that you research where the money goes and how much of it goes there. Of course there will be costs to maintain an organization, but some “non-for-profits” seem to take a pretty big cut. Just sayin’.

Please help.

2011 Grammy Awards

Yesterday, I bought the boyfriend’s Valentine’s Day gifts and while I was out, I saw the cutest white Rampage sunglasses. I picked them up and put them down twice and went home without them. All night and all this morning, all I could think about where those sunglasses… I had to make them mine! So I went back today and bought them! I love them! So retro and so adorable.

White Sunglasses – Rampage
Green Cape Sweater – Old Navy
Skinny Jeans – Old Navy (Diva)
White Los Angeles T-Shirt
Sally Hansen Nail Polish – Jumpin’ Jade

I’m really excited because I recently came across a totally adorable, totally genius way to make your own sunglasses display/organizer and I am excited to make mine and show you all how you can make your own! -Instructions and pics coming soon!

Tonight were the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, and I absolutely love The Grammys! Here’s my breakdown of some of the night’s winners, performances and of course, the red carpet fashion!!

Let’s start with the Red Carpet Fashion! Here are some of my favorites!

Lady Gaga arrived in an egg. She was in a “creative embryonic state”.
Ok, because it’s you, Gaga, I’ll let this go…

This is what she was wearing throughout the event however.
(Including her buns of plastic.)

Amber Riley. This girl seems to always look amazing!
The detailing on the dress was painted on! Love it!

I hate J.Lo. I loved her whole look tonight though.
Mirrored dress, heels and bag! So adorable!

Hayley Williams of Paramore. I don’t like her dress, but her makeup looked fab!
The green eyeshadow really went well with her bright and brazen red hair tone.

Katy Perry looked gorgeous! and her Grandma, Anne, had a bejeweled cane!
The bust of the dress was mirrored like JLo’s get-up! I just Love Katy no matter what.

Mumford & Sons. I really wanted these guys to win Best New Artist.
So adorable, I can’t get enough of these guys!

Kim Kardashian, looking amazing. I loved this dress and her neutral heels.

Keri Hilson looked fabulous! -Pretty Girl!

Kelly Osbourne. Love Love Love her dress!
I’ve always loved Kelly, but recently she has just come into her own as a fashionista!
I can’t get enough Kelly!

Nicki Minaj. Always an interesting look.
Head-to-toe leopard print!

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban
Every time the cameras cut to Nicole in the audience, she looked like she was having a ball!
I love Nicole!

Selena Gomez. I love this dress! Love it!
Even though I don’t know much about this Disney Princess.

And Nikki Sixx was there… so here’s a picture because I love him.
I was totally diggin’ his metallic nail polish.

Ciara… not sure why she was even there. Gross.

Lea Michelle… Obnoxious as always… and I hate her dress as usual.

Miley Cyrus. If she would just admit she was stoned off her ass when she picked this,
I’d forgive her.

Here are some of the night’s highlights:

The Aretha Franklin tribute that opened the show was lame. The best part was Christina Augilera busting her ass on stage at the end. Problem? There was a wide angle shot at that moment and most viewers missed it.

Best Pop Duo/Group – Train “Hey Soul Sister”

Ricky Martin wore the gayest pants I’ve ever seen.

Lady Gaga performed her new single “Born This Way’…. I love LG, but it sounds an awful lot like Madonna’s “Express Yourself”…. just sayin….

Lenny Kravitz, who is still looking sexy, introduced Muse…
I’ve never liked Muse. I’ve hated hearing them on the radio…
However, this does happen to me from time to time, after I see a band perform,
I sometimes like them….

I now like Muse. Plus, I was totally diggin’ the sparkley jackets!
I also loved the social commentary about rising tuition prices in the UK
and all the monitor and light effects.

The Bruno Mars, B.O.B and Janelle Monae performance was amazing! I want Bruno Mars to rerelease his single in the classic style in which he performed it tonight! loved it!

Usher performed with Justin Beiber and Will Smith’s kid….
What happened to Ludacris and Lil John?
At this rate, I’m guessing he’ll be recording with The Wiggles & Yo Gabba Gabba cast next.

Best Pop Vocal went to Lady Gaga…. Duh.

Mumford & Sons (who I adore!) gave an amazing performance with Avett Brothers and Bob Dylan. The stage looked beautiful, like an old theatre. I loved it.
Bob Dyaln is an american poet and songwriting genius/legend…
sounded like he could use a Ricola… more so than usual.

Katy Perry gave a wonderful performance. It was beautiful and perfect for Valentine’s day.
It was so incredibly sweet, I cried. Pictures from her wedding were being displayed
on her very long train as she was suspended on a sparkley swing.

She jumped off to perform Teenage Dream surrounded by hearts! LOVE KATY!
and I love sparkles!

Rhianna, Eminem, and Dr. Dre’s performance was awesome!
Love Dr. Dre and I’m happy to hear he’s coming back, at least for one album.

Song of The Year went to Lady Antebellum.

Best New Artist – Esperanza Spalding. ??? I’m going to have to check out her album.

Mick Jagger performed….
He didn’t die, so that’s awesome.

Barbara… Barbara… she looked like pudding. gross.
I’m usually eye-to-eye with you gays. I’ve often said I am gay man trapped in a woman’s body… I don’t get it… She’s a legend… ok…

Best Rap Album – “Recovery” Eminem

Ok, Mark Anthony and J.Lo were presenting or announcing someone…
I don’t remember which… all I remember was how awkward it was.
It seemed like he was wasted and she was annoyed because of it.
Then he was annoyed with her bossiness to take over….
Divorce? I’m putting my bet in: Yes.

Arcade Fire performed and then won Album of the Year for “The Suburbs.”
I’m going to have to check them out to… I’ve never really listened to their stuff, but I loved their performance. Reminiscent of The Clash + The Ramones+ The White Stripes.

***The Ramones were also awarded a lifetime achievement award along with
Dolly Parton (who I also love) and others.*** Yay Ramones!

While we are the note of Legendary groups receiving accolade tonight,
The Beatles even won a Grammy! Best Historical Album for the digitally remastered box set. ♥ my Beatles.

And that’s about it.

People’s Choice Awards Voting

So voting is currently open for the 2010 People’s Choice Awards. I know I shouldn’t take for granted my Constitutional right to make my voice heard, so I headed over to The People’s Choice Awards and cast my votes. To be completely honest, most of the people and things nominated I didn’t even give a crap about. I pretty much picked for stupid reasons, but at least I did my part and voted! I believe in voting without having too much prior knowledge of the candidates anyway. I’m American.

There were a few of my personal favs that were nominated though:
I voted for Johnny Depp for Favorite Actor (over-all I guess… ???) and Julia Roberts for Favorite Actress. Robert Downy Jr was my pick for Favorite Action Star, mostly because he’s so damn sexy. Favorite Talk Show Host, Conan… Hello?… and I haven’t even watched his new show yet. I voted for Lady Gaga for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist.

Here’s one category that got me: Favorite Star Under 25. Nominees: Emma Watson (Who I obviously picked), Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron… really? Two couples and a 5th wheel? Seemed stupid… anyway. Favorite TV Obsession, I picked Dexter. Favorite Rock Band I completely skipped… I refused to vote at all.

The nominees for Favorite Rock Bad are as follows:

Daughtry. (Please.)
Linkin Park (Excuse me while I stab myself in the face repeatedly.)
Maroon 5. (If I were drinking milk and someone announced Maroon 5 as a nominee for ANYTHING Rock Band (other than shittiest), I would proceed to laugh hard enough for the milk to squirt out of my nose. Then I would be so pissed because my nasal passages would burn and I’d say “Damn you, Maroon 5! I hate you in more ways than one!… Just not as more than or nearly as much as f*cking Linkin Park.” Seriously, I f*cking hate Linkin Park.)
Nichelback. … … … I usually just move on to the next song, station or channel whenever Nichelback comes on… so….
Paramore… They were the final nominee….
so I just skipped that one… no vote from me, thank you.

They also had a category called “Favorite Viral Video” or “Favorite Internet Phenomenon” or something like that. One of the nominees is a video of an 11 year old boy named Greyson Chance doing a cover of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi. I had never seen it before… I loved it. So it got my vote. Here’s the video if you haven’t seen it yet.
