2012 Adventures and Excursions!

So the boyfriend and I scrapped our plans of going to Comic Con this year.

Instead, we decided we missed our friends and will be taking several trips this year: Memphis Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama and New York!!!!

I love these people that we will be visiting and would much rather see them. There’s always next year for Comic Con… Besides, I’ll have fun wearing my female versions of various Doctor Who costumes anyway!!! Which reminds me, I need to post pics of my creations!!!!

NFL Playoffs!

Today, I donned my green apparel…

(my eye make-up looked cool too… I forgot to get a good picture, but you can kind of see it in this picture of me fussing at Casey when he was taking these pics… I know, I look awesome.)

…and headed to Sean’s where we were gathering to watch the playoffs. Sean’s house is a Bears house… (The Chicago Bears)… So we were all obviously pulling for them to beat Green Bay.

… that didn’t work out. 😦 bummer… at least we had plenty of Jack Daniels and grilled food!

So Casey and I are Jets fans, so next game starts… Jets/Steelers… We’re all rooting for New York.

… that didn’t work either. So we grilled up and ate more steak!

Basically, we were all a little depressed….

However, spending the day with friends, good… no, GREAT food, Whiskey, games of Cornhole in the backyard, and a fire in the cold night… It was an amazing day regardless of the losses.

I took some awesome pictures of the fire too!

Casey snapped this one of me from across the fire…

Jessie, Sean’s wife had just picked up these awesome lawn globe things… I had to play with them!

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2010

Last night was the 2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. I hunted down pics of some of my favorite looks and moments.

Adrian Lima kicked off the show in this totally rock and roll, black and red, skull cap-sleeved number! I loved! Adriana Lima has been my long-time favorite Angel, and this year, she is definitely the big dawg around Vicki’s.

However, I think my new favorite Angel is a toss-up between the sexy Alessandra Ambrosio and the adorable Erin Heatherton. Both are seen here in beautiful pieces from the Wild Things segment.

Chanel Iman donned her first pair of wings at this year’s show and anyone who watched saw how honored she was. Jessica Stam and Izabel Goulart.

Lindsay Ellingson from the Country Girl segment. Erin again. and Flavia de Oliveira walking while Akon performed.

Katy Perry put on a good show, nothing amazing, but it was just as fun and flirty as Victoria’s Secret. She performed Fireworks early on in the show and then later a medley of Teenage Dream, Hot and Cold, and California Girls... you know, the ones you’ve been hearing way too much all year.

Just as she opened the show, Adriana Lima closed the show with that $2 Million Dollar Bombshell Bra.

And then they all bounced around with all the[ir] huge balloons bouncing about the entire venue.

Last night was also the 78th lighting ceremony of the tree in Rockefeller Center in New York City. The tree is a 74 foot tall Norway Spruce.

And… Today, Reese Witherspoon got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! I love Reese and I’m so excited she got a star! She even posed with Bruiser! and she looked fantastic too! So adorable.

Paris, je t’aime.

One of my favorite favorite favorite movies is Paris, je t’aime. It’s the first movie in the Cities of Love project that was created by Emmanual Benbihy, a Parisian film producer. It’s a collection of 18 scenes, each one directed by a different directer including the Cohen Brothers, Wes Craven and 19 other fantastic directors. The cast is made up of some pretty incredible people too: Willem Defoe, Steve Buscemi, Elijah Wood and Natalie Portman just to name a few.
Each one’s theme is, as one could guess, love and showcases all the kinds of love. Some are funny or ironic, most will just tear your heart out; each one, amazing. Each is set in a different arrondissement in Paris. I know nothing I can say will do justice to any of these pieces of beautiful perfection, but I would like to share a few of my personal favorite vignettes.
Le Marais – Directed by Gus Van Sant – It’s so frustrating! Gaspard Ulliel enters a paint/print shoppe and is instantly drawn to the shop worker, Elias McConnell. He’s expressing some of the most beautiful sentiments and telling the shop worker how he believes they are soul mates. The shop worker, however, speaks very little French. I cried.

Bastille – Directed by Isabel CoixetSergio Castellitto is a straying husband, with a younger lover, who finds out his wife, Miranda Richardson, is terminally ill. Instead of leaving his wife, as he had planned to do, he stays with her. You feel the guilt, sadness and love all emanating from this man for his beloved wife. In her better years she had always donned a red trench coat that he always thought was a bit silly. After her passing, as he wanders through life in sadness, his “heart stops every time he sees a woman in a red trench coat.” -I full on weep through out this one and it is my favorite scene out of all of them.
Quartier des Enfants Rouges – Directed by Olivier AssayasMaggie Gyllenhal plays an American actress filming in Paris who enjoys herself some strong hashish. Her regular dealer, Ken, played by Lionel Dray, is very much drawn to her. As she pulls cash from an ATM he runs his hand along her back without touching her. She is aloof and somewhat rushed to return to the party she was attending but they exchange numbers when he asks if he could watch on the set. Later, when she calls for a re-up and to invite him over (she is now feeling attracted to him as well), she is disappointed when Ken sends a friend to deliver her goods.
Pigalle – Directed by Richard LaGraveneseBob Hoskins (who I ♥) and Fanny Ardant go back and forth between dissatisfaction, disappointment and true love and adoration starting in a strip club and continuing home. It’s so adorable!
Pere-Lachaise – Directed by Wes Craven – A soon to be married couple tour Le Pere Lachaise where their relationship could end when Emily Mortimer says she can’t go through with marrying Rufus Sewell due to his lack of sense of humor and understanding the Importance of Being Funny/Fun upon the grave of Oscar Wilde. When she runs off and he trips and hits his head upon the grave, Oscar Wilde assists the man in stopping his fiance from leaving him forever. -It’s one of my favorites of the favorites.

The last of the 18 scenes is
14E Arrondissement – Directed by Alexander Payne – An American tourist, Margo Martindale, describes, in her newly learned French, what she loves about Paris and it will bring you to tears… again.

It’s just simply a fantastic film. Each scene is powerful and committed and leaves you feeling something. I haven’t gotten a chance to see it yet, but I’m excited to watch the next installment in the series New York, I Love You. Because, God Damn it, I do!

Amazing Weekend in Football… for me!

On Sunday, The New York Jets played The Miami Dolphins. This is always a big game. I listened to so much crap being talked by obnoxious Dolphins fans all week and especially all Sunday before the game. And the game; The game was amazing! It was exciting from start to finish. In the end, The Jets Won!!! I was very, very pleased about that, and even more so that all those f*ckers (Dolphin Fans) can eat the sh*t they talked!! (To be fair it was a very close game up until the very end).

Casey, Sarah and I were very happy with the results! ♥

But not only did my team win their game, I won this week’s pick ’em pool!! (Woop-Woop) I won $90! I was totally stoked. It came down to the Bears/Packers Game and then the closest guess for total points. I bet on the Bears and predicted 36 total points… The Bears won and the total score was 37… heeeeyyy!

Here’s me with my winnings! ♥
That cute little owl in glasses says “It’s not about how you look, but how you see.”

Needless to say, I am a very happy fan this week.
