"You & Me Together, We Can Do Anything" d.m.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

When I got home from work today, Casey (My Punkin, My Punkinator) had my gifts waiting for me on the dinning room table. I, of course, got my chocolate fix in the form of Ferrero Rocher truffles…. mmmm. He also bought me the most adorable Kathy Van Zeeland purse!! It’s Mostly white with some black and bedazzle. He says he bought it to match my new Rampage sunglasses!!! (So adorable.) Love him so much!

-Insert picture of Kathy Van Zeeland Bag here-
Will do later tonight.

After I had gotten ready, we headed out to one of my favorite local steakhouses (my boy knows I love a good steak!) where we gorged ourselves on steak, lobster and shrimp! mmmmmmm….. We had to wait a little while before our table was ready, but we passed the time together outside, drinks in hand. It was such a beautiful, cool evening, we didn’t even mind having to wait a bit.

Here’s what I wore:

New Gray/Metallic-y top from Macy’s (bought it with the store credit from Christmas)
Dark Denim O’Neil Skinny Jeans
Gray Boots, on loan from Kacie
Silver Bangles
and Silver Sag Harbor bag.

-I absolutely loved wearing this outfit!-

Now, lets look at some of my favorite couples!

None of these ended well…. but they loved! 🙂

I certainly hope whether you are in a relationship or not, you get in on some of the love today. Like I told some of my friends, love yourself, a friend, chocolate, whatever the hell you want to love today, just enjoy it!

It really bugs me when people push their negative energy on others by saying Valentine’s Day is a lame, made-up holiday created by chocolate and card manufactures to sell products…. to this I say “So What?”…. just enjoy it. You don’t need diamonds and expensive gifts (but if you get ’em… way to go…) just love and be loved.

Strega Nona at The Lyric Theater

Today I worked wardrobe for a children’s musical “Strega Nona” based on the children’s book. I mostly steamed a bunch of the player’s costumes and made a few repairs. (Although, I was needed on headset stage left, briefly, at the beginning of each show, which I wasn’t expecting.) I had a lot of fun and I felt adorable (and quite comfy) in my outfit for the day.

The Navy Blue T was ordered from Forever 21 for like $4 or something.
I also ordered the Navy Blue beret from Forever 21. $2.50, I believe.
The Silver Satchel is Sag Harbor, which I bought at Ross for about $15.

I don’t know where I acquired my gray cardigan,
but it’s little pearl buttonsare my favorite part of it.
I wore my Navy Blue and White Polka Dot ballet flats.
I don’t remember where or when I bought these either

I found this clock necklace at Target yesterday! I love it! I just wish it actually worked.

Makeup: I used blue, gray and silver to accomplish my smoky eye of the day. I used an Almay Blue Eyeshadow Trio, Covergirl brown eye pencil and Maybelline Great Lash mascara in blackest black. I added a little shimmer with Mica Bella Mineral Cosmetics.

To accomplish the rest of my face for the day I used my Maybelline Pure Makeup Liquid Foundation and Maybelline Mineral Powder liquid concealer, as always, along with Covergirl powder.

"I’d Rather Walk" – Preview and Critiquing

Casey and I were invited to watch a preview of a work-in-progress show called I’d Rather Walk at the Lyric Theater in Downtown Stuart. Casey and I have both worked at the Lyric Theater in the past (he as a stagehand and as part of the lighting crew, me in the box office and as a wardrobe assistant to the artists). The show is being produced by John Loesser and was written by, directed by, and staring Nonie Breen who has frequented the Lyric as Sister in the Late Night Catechism shows.

It was really fun to be apart of. Those invited were members of the local theatre community and were asked to provide notes and criticisms. Over all I thought the show was very funny and definitely entertaining. It was obviously no where near completed; voice over and video gags were obviously thrown together for the preview and are going to be redone… and if they weren’t planning on rerecording them, they should definitely consider doing so.

Basically, theres this really old Flight Attendant on I.R.W. airlines (or something) who reminisces about the times of being a Stewardess and since shes old, she complains and gives the audience a hard time. In fact, it requires audience participation and interaction which really could only work well in a small venue like a dinner theater or a comedy club. If done in such a location, the show would be great! However, doing such a show in a proscenium just doesn’t work.

Having performed in murder mystery dinner theater tours that require A LOT of audience participation since 2004, I feel like she could have done more with the audience. Honestly, she just wasn’t hard enough on them. Jokes were made at their expense, but none really delivered. In a more appropriate atmosphere, so much more can be done with the audience members.

I was excited to participate in such a critiquing, and I obviously had a few notes to share. We were asked to write them on note cards so that they can be reviewed later. I’d love to see the show again when it’s completed, I really enjoyed myself. (I even got picked on few times.)

Visit The Lyric Theater website to view their upcoming
2010-2011 Season and to purchase tickets.

I borrowed the dress from Kacie.
The Silver Sag Harbor Satchel I bought at Ross for like $20.
The Silver Rampage Heels I also bought at Ross for $14.99.
